How to Quit Your Way To Success| Gym Talk
I’m a bonified quitter in my past life. We all quit things, but a conversation with my supervisor yesterday showed me what ten years of making the same mistakes could do if you decide to make ONE different choice.
Over the past year, I have been running an experiment at the company that I currently work at. What I decided to do was to see if you could work for a company for one year and then when you approach your employer to let them know that you have a creative idea that could help enhance the department to see what exactly they would do?
My experience in the past was to quit if my creative idea was not accepted or challenged by my employer. Yesterday all that changed.
My supervisor and I had a conversation about my approach to another department without his permission, and I used a principle from Ray Dalio book Principles to consider how I might be wrong. This allowed me to navigate the conversation from the perspective of a learner.
Moral of the story: things turned out excellant!
