Somehow during last weeks training, I injured my back! Researching this issue I found this injury is common for those returning to running and pushing themselves beyond the current fitness level.
I took my racing pace seriously this morning as I warmed up at a 3.0 pace on the treadmill and maintained a 3.4mph pace throughout the short run.
I could tell my back would feel better at the end as I crossed the 1 mile mark. Tomorrow is a long run (20 minutes) according to the schedule, so I should be able to gauge my progress without having to take ibuprofen the night before.
No finish line in the horizon, so let’s keep running! See you tomorrow
