Google Foundations Data, A Five-Week Training Is Suddenly Over

When Google announced its Google Analytics Professional Certificate program, I was excited to learn more about Google Data and Google Analytics. The five-week training is complete, and now that I have finished the first class, I wanted to give my initial thoughts while they are fresh in my mind. Here's what you need to know if you're considering taking this excellent course!

First, let's start with the time commitment. Classes are self-paced, but you have "due dates" to keep you moving through the program smoothly. Google recommends you spend about 15 hours per week on the coursework.

The Google Analytics Professional Certificate is a beautiful program that will take your Google Data knowledge to the next level! The certificate has eight courses, and each one builds upon what you learned in the previous class, which I think is fantastic because it makes sure that you are learning everything there is to know before moving on to another topic.

Second, as an online student, this class is not just a sit and watch program. You have quizzes and test you must pass before moving forward and posting to other students taking the course with you. If you follow my journey from navy medic to a data analyst, you will know I am also an online cybersecurity major at southern new Hampshire University (SNHU). Some of our classes are just reading a book and taking a test, not like the courses in this program that have taught that record lectures and show images and motion graphics that help keep you engaged.

Third, Google Analytics is a powerful tool that I am happy to have in my arsenal. This Google Data training program has given me the skills needed to use Google Analytics and how it works behind the scenes.

Fourth, even though this course was very educational and helpful for Google Data analytics, there are still some things about Google Data analytics that you should know before signing up. The first thing might be the price! Nowadays, everyone wants free education or at least low-cost programs like CodeAcademy (which, by the way, Code Academy is another fantastic resource!). Google does offer scholarships to those who qualify based on family size and income levels for tuition purposes; however, you must pay your books costs, ranging from $75 to $200.

Lastly, Google Analytics is a life skill that will teach you to be more observant and analytical about your daily activities and those of others around you! I think the Google Data Professional Certificate program has been an excellent way to learn how Google data plays a role in my day-to-day work life.

Final Thoughts: Google Data analytics can give us great insight into our world if we only open up our eyes and see what's happening all around us! The Google Analytics Professional certificate was beneficial at giving me skills needed not only for working with Google Data but also for learning how it works behind the scenes. It does come with some downfalls like price; however, this course is an excellent resource for Google Data analytics.
