IT-226 Comm in STEM Professions

IT-226 Module 2-5 Update

Introduction

Giovanni Hale: Hey, what's going on? You guys. I wanted to update you on where I am in class right now. Of course, this is it.

IT-226 Comm In STEM

Giovanni Hale: 2 26 communication in stem professions. And we are now down on week five. So, just a couple more weeks are left, and this class is done. Let's go ahead.

Grades

Giovanni Hale: First of all, get started inside of the grades, taking a look at where I'm standing

Who Am I

Giovanni Hale: So, if you don't know who I am, I am Giovanni; I am a Sophomore at S and H U. Yeah, on their online programs. So I'm a full-time. I worked full-time, 40 hours a week. And I also go to school. So this is specifically for working adults, or even if you're nodding, you're considering going into this program. My particular major is informationβ€”systems management. My focus is [00:01:00] in cyber security. And in this specific class, I am holding a, and there's been a lot of conversation throughout this class.

Let’s Review A Few Things

Giovanni Hale: So I want it to go over several things. Since I started the class, I wanted to give you some insight and some things to watch out for. So that'll be my review from week two until five. So two. There are a couple of things to focus on regarding this audience persona. When you get ready to create this, it's taking a document. You're going to put two pictures And build out a persona.

Data Nanny

Giovanni Hale: This company is called Data Manny. Okay. And so when you're doing that, if that's your choice, you'll have to put in two pictures, and then you'll build a persona for that person. And that paper is not all that difficult to do. I think that maybe this paper should take you perhaps an hour. It may take you longer if you are. I have never [00:02:00] worked in the industry or with people who do stem.

Discussion Post

Giovanni Hale: The. I think the more pressing thing that was more interesting was week two; this discussion posts the channel's purpose. That was a lot of conversation. And at least in my class, I was over different media. And like how you would relay information, for example, I work in it; since I work in it, I work every day communicating with different people in different departments, whether it's engineering, HR facilities, things like that, people outside of the company vendors; how you communicate matters.

And this was a scorching topic. So. Maybe in your class, it may not be, but this was quite the thing in my class.

3.3 Persona Research

Giovanni Hale: Okay. The persona research portion. This part was kind of a continuation of your last one. So you're going to post what you posted in two. You're going to post that in three, and then you're going to do [00:03:00] research, like what specific questions were not answered in kind of your number two when you created your persona.

Research Presentation

Giovanni Hale: The research presentation took me quite a bit of time. So, and week three, when you're working on week three, my advice to you I am to start working on this research presentation because. When you go through, I am a technical person concerning my everyday work. So this was something that I struggled with when trying to trim it down because what you're doing is you're writing to a nontechnicalβ€”group of people. So, this gives you some insight into what I think, and you can look at her comments, specifically how I wrote mine and targeted cyber security.

Instructor Responses

Giovanni Hale: So just. I would focus a lot of tension on that. In my particular instructor, we don't get our responses back until close to the end of the week. [00:04:00] So it, like right now, we're going into five. This is the week, the fifth week. And for you know, we've got the knowledge check portion, but that's about it. So we're still waiting on, like, this blog post revision. I'm still waiting on the comments for that. In week five, you have a knowledge check. You've got three things that you can see here. That you've got to do. And if you notice, one of them is a hundred points. So, as you're going through, I look at many of these and give some criteria. So I'll give you an insight into it. Five. So if you're here, you get to see what it's like to be in the class. If this is the first time you're here, this is what H and H S and H use. Classes are like, and most are precisely like this. So if. You will go through it and see your module portions here. And as you go through, you know, five, so four, five, One of the things I thought was most helpful. I didn't pay [00:05:00] attention to this right here for a long time. It gives you everything that you need to do. And your module. So, as I'm going through with five, I have already completed my knowledge tech. I got an a in that, and I finished my discussion post. So, the discussion post itself is finished.

Nontechnical

Giovanni Hale: But other than that, I am now doing this. Nontechnical. Portion is where we are, so I just wanted to give you a quick check-in to see if Things are still going well.
