Should I Take the Supervisor Position if Offered? | Giovanni Hale

I've been thinking about the supervisor role in my company for a few weeks now, and it's time to make that decision. The current guy who has done such a fantastic job leading us through this tough economy wants me to take over his position soon - but will I? Opening up this new position is scary because we'll be managing other people again; funny how much perspective changes when you're on their side!

I can't decide if it's a good idea to take this new job. It feels like the only choice, but at the same time, I'm nervous because we'll be managing other people again, and that makes me feel uncomfortable. The last few weeks have been interesting - going from employee to supervisor was enlightening! As an employee, you're so focused on your tasks and goals; as a supervisor, you need to focus on everyone else for them all to succeed too. What do you think?
