How I Got A 95% In SNHU HUM 100 Week 1 (Cybersecurity Online)
Hey, welcome back to the SNAQ online weekly podcast. My name is Giovanni. I am a freshman at Southern New Hampshire university. Online, majoring in cybersecurity with the focus and data science. Today we are going to talk about our first week. This is our new class. We are going into humanities 100. Now for most of you, that won't be something that you'll need to do.
Because maybe if you've taken college courses before, then you actually don't know. To take humanities, but in my particular case I am starting, I have gone to colleges before, but I'm starting my education journey again. So in doing so that requires me to take humanities. So first thing, we're going to start off with our grade tech.
[00:00:52] Grade Check
Like we always do right now grade check where zero, obviously this is a brand new class. The first week of class, we don't have a grade, but just want to keep things concise.
[00:01:03] What Kind of Projects
Let's talk about Kind of your projects that you have to do for this class. First thing that you have is a discussion. Okay. And this is the skills that humanities can teach us.
Now, that particular course of work that you're going to have to do is this is not a discussion. Where you're going to be able to just do the minimum. I most trying to say it as politely as I could now keep in mind, this is 50 points of your class and in this class, this is not a coding. So you're going to have to, and so if you are a person who just writes, like you're writing on Facebook, that's not going to cut it. So with this first one, the discussion I made my discussion. Now, if you want to mirror what I'm doing, I made my discussion. I set a goal of making it at least 800 words. So mine came out to about 740 words.
So I didn't make the full 800, however, I did make sure that it was a thorough, I made sure that there were references and different things like that. I posted pictures. And for those of you that are on the YouTube version of this, you'll get a chance to see what my post actually looked like. And my instructor responded back to me, let me know that she really enjoyed it.
[00:02:28] Second Post Project
Now, the second. Project or. Shall we say it's a short answer. So it's called cultural objects and their culture. So the point of this one is you're breaking things down to the culture and you're picking items. It is, I believe it is three groups that you identify with. And then of those three groups, things specific to those groups that are identifiers.
One of the things, for example, if you were to say, okay, I am a United States. Okay. Then one of those things would be perhaps an anchor or a Navy symbol would be something that is part of our subgroup. So you could say, I am an African-American. That is one group. I am over 40. That is a second group. And I am a veteran that is your three groups.
Then you would pick identifiers for each one of those. You would say, okay, I'm a veteran. So what usually comes to mind a velour veteran. Military service. So you could pick an emblem or some type of identifier for veterans service over 40 somethings specific for men over 40, you could pick an identifier of maybe like a belly or something like that, or an aging man or midlife type of image.
And then finally, if you were to say, okay my third thing, I'm trying to figure out what I'm going to do. For my third item. So you would just pick identifiers, you guys get the point. So that's your short answer portion and that's really all that you have in this class is not as technically required as the other classes that we've been taking so far.
But I just wanted to give you guys. Dirty introduction, keep you abreast of what's going on. And that is about it guys. If there is anything inside of this podcast that has resonated with you or helped you in any way. Please leave it alive or posted. If you're on a podcast, that way the algorithm knows that this is helping others.
As I've been going through making these, I have received feedback from people that they've really appreciated what I've been doing. So please let others know by just hitting the like button takes you a couple of seconds. I really got really appreciate it. And I will talk to you guys next week.
Bye.
